Thought I'd drop this in 'off topic' as this is about modern road bikes. After watching a few stages of the Tour, I cannot help think that there has been a ban placed on the use of any ferrous material in modern bicycle constuction. After all the fuss over compact frame designs, with the sloping top tubes ala MTB, I am surprised to see curved top tubes, and seat & chain stays bent in all kinds of wonderous ways. Perhaps all the hard-core traditionalists in the UCI must have died, or been booted out.....
