Scary when people not far from ones own age are dying

I used to enjoy a bit of Victoria Wood back in the day

RIP

Re:

She was my one childhood hero and the only famous person I have ever wanted to meet. That chance taken forever now....

Just listening to the sad news on Radio 2 and afterwards they played the Ballad Of Barry And Freda, I was already crying but then I was laughing so much I would have been crying anyway, and Simon Mayo came on and said exactly that, how many of you are now laughing and crying at the same time...

RIP.

Re:

I'm mainly laughing. I didn't know her. Some of her work was spot on for a certain demographic. The female Richard Stilgoe, if you like.

Listening to some of her early songs, she could probably have made a decent career as a serious singer songwriter.

One less genuinely talented performer.

Re:

Another genuine talent taken far too soon

Dinnerladies is one of my all time favourites funny and poignant at the same time....

Re:

Sad to hear this news. Loved to watch her perform on stage, as well as the series she penned BITD

Another real talent taken from us :(
