Came across this photo from the 1930's from Milwaukee-looks like fun!

I wonder, if they had some studs on rear tyres. Front bike looks to have some easy fited front skate,maybe to fit wheel for going home after race. Looks cool/d!

Note the guy in front has his skate offset to the side-kinda like indoor speed skates with offset blades-the guy in back has his centered. I'm thinking there hasta be some kind of studs on the back wheels...

I'd imagine the rims have been sharpened for grip.

Offset speed skates? Hard to tell from the photo if the front blade is offset, not sharp enough picture mefinks

May be that the camera is focused better on him. Did cameras back then have good depth of field?

Nah, Photoshop hadn't been invented in the 1930s. Anyhow, here they are in action...
