GoPro footage

Hi everyone,

Recently I bought a GoPro and have been doing some cycling with it on my helmet, I am posting in this section because the bikes I used in the videos are neither mountain, road nor BMX, one is a Raleigh Shopper, the other a Raleigh RSW. I shot the Shopper footage on the cycle path between Doune and Dunblane and the RSW footage in Glen Lonan in the Scottish Higlands, Cycle route 78 to be precise. More to follow soon when I get at my road bikes :D

The Shopper footage is a fault finding ride I took her on before I started a rebuild:

And the RSW footage started out as a gentle Sunday bike ride but soon turned into a race when I realised there were other cyclists behind me:

Re:

Nice Shopper! :D

I've toyed with the notion of pimping a shopper, basically ditching all the heavy steel components and replacing them with alloy, sort of Sheldon Brown style: http://sheldonbrown.com/raleigh-twenty.html

You can get 3 speed thumbshifters too, which might help with your automatic gear change problem: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sturmey-Arche ... 5d3141f77d

With regard to rain droplets on your lens, I haven't tried it, but when I used to ride a motorcycle I used Rain-X on my visor: http://www.rainx.co.uk/, it makes water bead and run off. Not sure how well it would work on a camera lens, or cycling glasses, but it was quite effective on a curved motorcycle visor where the wind would blow the water droplets off to the side, rather than staying put on the front.

Thanks :) The Shopper has been in my family since 1997 and I rescued her from the garden shed in 2004,

The Sheldon Brown pimping seems cool, I'd like to see how an uprated Shopper rides, though I like the classic looks of the Shopper, if a compromise could be found where the bike performs better but hasn't lost it's classic look that'd be cool :) That said those anodised red rims look sweet

Thanks for the link to the thumbshifter, I think it may just be a spot of toggle chain adjustment needed to get her shifting nicely in this bikes case, but if I want to build an uprated three speed I shall maybe get one of those, I have a MK1 RSW that's been in bits for 5 years, maybe I should ditch the resto and build a specced up RSW for going fast :)

Thank you as well for the rainx link, it looks like a cool products, I must give it a go :)

Cheers
Mike
