Forum search function issues?

Just wondering if anybody else has had repeated problems with either searches or pages of search results returning the message "You may not use the search function at this time. Please try again later" (or words to that effect). I've encountered this on numerous machines, regardless of OS and browser (it used to happen when I ran Windows with IE and later Chrome, and still happens after changing to a Linux laptop with Firefox). Any thoughts? It does make searching the secondhand ads a tad frustrating!

You need to sit and wait a while between searches.
You oddly can use 'Active topics' search though at any time when New {odts locvks up by they seem to givetbge same results. It must perform its search differently.

It hasn't always happened.The old search function was so much better.
It's got one thing right though; search for Fat Chance...

i had a few issues over the years, usually it was in the early hours of the morning, 2 till 5am (shift work) haven't had many recently though
