also, a common misconception is that a 4 x 4 is a 'safer' vehicle to be in when you have a crash. This isn't necessarily the case - just look at the NCAP ratings...
Where I work we have an area called 'the boneyard'. This is where all those NCAP crash vehicles are stored. These vehicles have been run into a solid block at 40mph ( considered the speed of impact in a motorway crash after you've locked the brakes up at hit the back of a traffic jam)
More people should see these things firsthand when they feel safely 'cocooned' in their car/van.
That Transit up your arse at 70mph?.... where do you think the engine goes in one of those impacts?
More people should cycle/ ride a horse/ motorbike or walk to understand how vunerable other road users are. It's all in consideration for others.
