Helmets

I hear that the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has issued a directive to Cycling Scotland that requires them to only feature cyclists who are wearing helmets and refusing to authorise a television advertisement which showed a rider without a helmet – claiming that to do so would be ‘socially irresponsible.’
Anyone else heard about this?

Idiots, cyclists are not all mamils. Those annoy me. Club type riders, especially in the US who refer to safety campaigns so they can 'just participate in their sport safely' without RTAs. Your average Subaru driver doesn't participate in their sport on the public roads.

I also hate the cyclist image portrayed in the media and not just the 'someone who rides a bike image'.

Cycle safety campaigns ain't worth the fuss, even cyclists don;t know what they want.

Even worse with this campaing is that ASA requires the cyclist to be in a dangerous road position.
