Died today at the age of 71. Left some great songs behind him.

Goes without saying, so I will.

One of the most influential musicians of all time, and wrote some of the most wonderful songs.

Hate seeing all my idols slip away.

Unfortunately, I never really 'got' the Velvet Underground the way everyone else seemed to, although I don't dislike them by any means. However, Transformer is and will always be one of my all-time favourite albums, one of the very few that can make me feel good regardless of what mood I'm in. Massive loss indeed.
