Some great stuff here - i particularly like Bauhaus.

More please and please veer away from the punk - i think it confuses the tread (although i do love it!!!)).

Judas Priest's 2nd version of Joan Baez' "Diamonds and Rust"

Over the years they also did a fast and an acoustic version with Rob Halford as lead singer, but I'm afraid to admit that interim-singer Ripper Owens simply outclassed Rob here.

And seeing as you mentioned punk, I suddenly remembered a small local punk/ska band from my youth.

with the odd line from Bros' "When will I be famous" thrown in for good measure.

Apolcalyptica are so brilliant! This thread has got me digging around for all my fave covers, but there are so many that I'll just have to list some of them, in no particular order:

This Mortal Coil - Song to the siren
Siouxsie & the Banshees - Dear Prudence
Lemonheads - Mrs Robinson
Cradle of Filth - Temptation (Heaven 17)
Placebo - Running up that Hill
The Fall - Theres a ghost in my house
Anything by the Shire Horses

& one of the best: Patty Smith - Gloria
