just what we need, another gas guzzling chelsea tractor.
no doubt the choice of premiership footballers.
but i have to admit, it does look very nice.
and it sure is another direction for jaguar.

Thing is, it's not an off-road car, though, is it?

Look at the alloys, the low profile tyres and the tread pattern.

That's a car - like many of it's ilk - that probably has 4 x 4 running gear, and some clever transmission software, but really is likely - and quite probably intended - to do nothing but drive on the road. Or worst case scenario, a bit of grass to take Tarquin or Chelsea to a polo match.

They're more fake-y wannabe off-roads for people that buy cars that want that certain look.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, and maybe it could potentially be a very competent off-roader - but all the same, just looks like the newer style of compromise vehicles, with that chunky, hunky stance, but smoothed out a bit - like the X6 and Evoque.

I like Audi's Nanuk concept better. Whether it will ever come to fruition is anyone's guess (cough, cough, VW's W12).

As for the Audi, to me it looks like a modern take on the old Mega Track.

"The C-X17 has a rear-biased intelligent All-Wheel Drive system."
On paper sounds useless, but based on an all Al platform it may well be light enough to get away with it.
"the car introduces a brand new scalable aluminium architecture – known as iQ[AI]"

Can't see many farmers buying it.

I'll stick to my Pajeros for the white stuff this year.

Nice video, I've always liked the shape of the XJ220 - pity it sounds so horrible :( The XK8 on the other hand, whilst obviously not quite as powerful has possibly my favourite engine sound (Volvo 5 cylinder's haunting and slightly unsettling note probably wins for me)

The off road Jag looks exactly like a sanded off Evoque - attractive enough no doubt, but I don't really see the point.

I'm with the Highlandsflier. This kind of rubbish is either fish nor fowl. Crap off road, crap even in a few inches of snow (BMW X5/6 is a good case in point), and the extra weight and ride height compromises their performance and economy on the road. They serve only to stroke the small winkies of the people who like to think they're John Rambo crossed with Andy McNabb, but who in reality face their biggest manly challenge on their gravel drive way.

You gonna do it then do it proper - HF with his Mitsis, me with me Discos, we'll be laughing our socks off at drivers of this rubbish when half inch of snow falls, which will hopefully be soon!

It looks just as sh1t as all the other off-road tat on the market.

The only one that looks half good is that Audi thing! If I ever wanted/needed a 4x4 I would buy a Land Rover and If I was flush G-Wagon.

I must say that some of the Jaguar sports cars don't look bad. It's been a long wait since the last good looking Jag, the XJ6 Coupe back in 70's.... metalic blue with a black roof mmmmmmm
