Sorry DrJo. But your stuff seems as mad as hers!

Greenstiles. Interesting strategy. But I suspect my bluff would be called when I sit with the books on the floor snoring my head off...

Iwasgoodonce. All of these things have been pointed out in our home, on a regular basis. And don't seem to be getting me anywhere other than the naughty corner.

this is really difficult, if its just the money then remember you have been into cycling for 20 odd years and its only now its paying you back, maybe it will be the same with her hobby. If you cant afford any more courses then keep all discussions to money.

And I know for sure that the ultimatum strategy would be a losing ticket.

But really it's not the money as such. It's the whole thing that suggests that "those not involved" are at a lower spiritual level and it's the manipulation that's the problem.

What I really need is coping strategies.

OK so its not about the money, an ultimatum is a nono. Maybe a nudge in the right direction? What about doing a yoga course together? It might be good for you both to spend time together in this neutral space. She might get really into it and forget about ST Michael.

one coping strategy could be simply getting out & riding your bike.
emmerse yourself in something that you enjoy.
as for your other half, it sounds like you will not convince her to change.
my question is : is she a better person for this life style ?
maybe looking at the positives would help ?
