The guy is a penis for sure. But currently access to a printer capable of producing this would be quite restricted. Plus you would still need parts from elsewhere, plus there is the issue of ammunition. Can't print that. Big fuss over nothing I believe. Criminals still eat firearms regardless of the source. All you need to battle the illegal use of illegal firearms is someone offering free plans with inbuilt 'flaws'.

The price of these printers has dropped by over half in a year. Won't be more than a couple of years and they'll be commonplace and anyone will be alert do this, or print knives etc.
The guys a chump, but not the only one over there. Since its invention the motor car has slaughtered far more than the firearm, but seat bets still aren't legal in most states. While its a rum affair in not going to sweat over that in particular when there are many much more likely and prolific methods of killing people that still aren't properly regulated.

Access to these and better machines is easy and open to anyone in this country. You don't need to buy one, just send your cad off to any one of the number of specialist and not so specialist rapid prototypers.
