found this quite interesting.
maybe with a joint effort between public & police we can reduce the amount of paedo scum free to target our children.
i fully understand a group taking matters into their own hands.
and if completely left to the police the process of catching these vile creatures could be wrapped up in red tape.
i think if it leads to arrests then its a good thing.
i just worry the law will let paedo scum back into society, and protect their identities.
we need to send out a message this type of crime is intolerable.

Apart from the problem of people who are so dense that they beat up a Paediatrician...fact.

The police take these offences extremely seriously and the rate of child abduction is about 20% of the 1950's. The tabloids get hysterical, but lose any sense of proportion. Of course these offenders should be chased with the full force of the law, but 'have a go' investigators are not the way.

Funny that. That's exactly what's happening here.

Remember the Dutroux case we had here in the late 90s? His wife let the children die of hunger while he was in prison for some other crime. She claims that she was too scared of him to let the children go and/or disappear herself.
The psychiatrists and the jury determined that she was just as much a psychopath as Dutroux himself, so she was sentenced to 30 years in prison. She served 15 and is now on parole.

In 2001, while in prison awaiting her trial, she inherited an undisclosed sum of money, some furniture and various household items. She officially passed on that inheritance, making her children inherit it instead. That way the victims' families couldn't confiscate it to claim the £150.000-ish she owes them.
The furniture and other belongings conveniently ended up in the monastery where she lives now that she's on parole.

When they released her, there was quite a bit of outrage among the population, so the monastery now gets police protection around the clock.

Justice here is a joke, unfortunately it isn't a funny one.

agree with Hamster, this is not the way given specialist skills needed and sensitivity to victims even if not highlighted in article given their approach. Public naming and shaming can have negative impact as drives individuals "underground" where they cease to be monitored and checked on etc. Children must be protected but in my view a member of the public's time would be better spent ensuring the people properly trained have adequate and appropriate resources before some idiot cuts the funding.

IMO I think convicted sex offenders should be executed. Plain and simple. Anyone found guilty of rape/abuse should be took off the streets permanently.
I would quite happily put a noose around the neck or flick a switch.

You don't want to know how many people have been found guilty of murder, were executed ... and afterwards were found to be innocent.

i woujld guess it is a tinyu fraction of those that were found guilty.

obvioulsy before taking such steps, you need to be 100% sure before pressing the button .... and in many cases that can be sown but there is always the 0.0001% which equates to 1 innocent life

Unfortunately, yes - I well remember hearing the news stories about that episode in the wake of one of the redtops (NoTW??) publishing a list of known offenders.
