They never had a person specification 30 years ago. If you were 5'8" or more (5'10" in the met and 6'0" city of London) and had no criminal record then you got the job.

Of course, now you can be so small that an 8 year old could birch slap you and have a criminal record and still get in. So much for 'progress'.

The Person Specification was around 30 years ago, but it was not given to applicants.

I was being a little tongue in cheek, no offence officer!

maybe she could even get a job in parliment in a few years.
