They never had a person specification 30 years ago. If you were 5'8" or more (5'10" in the met and 6'0" city of London) and had no criminal record then you got the job.
Of course, now you can be so small that an 8 year old could birch slap you and have a criminal record and still get in. So much for 'progress'.

The Person Specification was around 30 years ago, but it was not given to applicants.

i have always been lead to believe females were mentally ahead of males.
well this goes to prove that theory wrong.
still at least i know where my hard earned taxes are going these days.
maybe she could even get a job in parliment in a few years.
