Soreen has to be cut with a sharp serated knife.... otherwise it just gets crushed and not only looks unpleasant, but makes it harder to spread lashings of butter on.

The presliced is a false economy as you have to squash it to pull it apart, as it sticks together so much.

Also never ever leave Soreen at the bottom of the bread bin, it will suffer the same fate....

Also true of tinned corned beef or ham....for years I never worked out why Mum kept it in the fridge (tinned food doesn't go off easily after all) until she explained the "top tip" for easier slicing.
