 Post subject: Wooden rims 1908

Saw these in a local museum the other week. 3 x pics, wheel , frame, info. Pics are from my phone, but close up the frame looks good, and the hubs quite tiny and light, wood seems to be in layers

I remember my dad telling me he rode them in he 1940's. They still make them...

I'm sure that some of Campagnolo's first rims were aluminium painted to look like wood to get around rules governing wheel rims.

We had some for sale in the 70's at the shop where I worked........ghisallo rings a bell :D

Those rims are "Constrictor" and not "Constructor" which were a bit before my time but saw a few on older bikes..
