using a macbook air I am confuddled

on my old windows machine if say I wanted to save an free avatar i would right clack...save picture and kazam in it went

when I try the same thing again with on the mac to caprure an avatar ...nuttin

What am i doing wrong?

Are you using a mouse, or the built-in trackpad?
Your trackpad might be set up as a single-click (as opposed to right- and left-click).
In any case, CTRL-Click does the same thing as right-click and should bring up a contextual menu that allows you to save an image.
Trackpad can be reconfigured in System Preferences, it's pretty straightforward.

thank you kindly sir

it is on the track pad and I cant see in system preferences-trackpad how to change it but the ctrl click works a treat thanks

edit..found how to bottom right click setting change..taa muchly
