you mean Comet? Blacks/ Millets still trade. HMV will trade for now, Jessops shut instantly and Blockbuster probably will to.

Its no fun being made redundant like that as sometimes theres no money for a payout.

JD Sports.

They only went into administration so that they could be bought debt free.

That's very true.

A friend of mine was made redundant just before Christmas by the administrators, after 13 years with the company. The best she can hope for is the statutory minimum that the Govt. cough up.

There are thousands losing their jobs currently in the construction industry, as company after company go bust, many of them are good companies, but the huge firms they are working for hold up payment for so long that for many it kills them.
