you could just use a very strong telescope and have a look at the landing zone yourself

Actually you can't -- everything's too small to resolve with any existing earth-bound telescope.

The thing about cospiracy theories is sometimes there is actually a conspiracy fact, the health risks associated with smoking were well know to the tobacco producers in the fifties but were actively covered up, the addition of tetraeythyl lead to gasoline was know to be hazadous to health but it took years of campaigning by Clair Patterson before the petrochemical companies finally came clean.

the wearing of tin foil hats, as worn by every self respecting conspiracy theorist for the past 50 years, has been scientifically proven to reduce the brain cells of the wearer....... this has subsequently been countered by the theorists as a conspiracy to actively target those that voice doubt against the official word by the western governments against ....

.... similar claims will be made about the use of the internet and virility and sperm count, to further prevent them from reproducing and spreading their conspiracy through the generations

The Americans designed the moon and launched it into orbit with the intention of keeping the Soviet scientists busy. Then in 1969 they demoralized them completely by releasing the film of the moon landing.

The landing itself is real, but was filmed in area 51, where they built the moon.

The Illuminati is a conspiracy, Area 51 is a conspiracy..
Whats next? Majestic 12?

Wasn't there some study (might have been on TV) that worked out the cost of making the moon landings fake, and they came to the conclusion that it would cost about the same as actually going there. I think it was because they still had to fire a rocket up there from Earth, it still had to make it to space. Add on all the fake stuff, plus the huge amount of people they'd have to pay off and it turns out it would have been amazingly expensive.

......but possible. Whereas landing on the moon before the end of the decade may have simply been impossible no matter how much money they had.
