I have a shot of my daughter, head and shoulders on a cluttered background.

I want to remove the cluttered background and replace with nice plain white so we can get the pic enlarged on one of those trendy canvas things.

Anyone recommend any free software I can download that can deal with this?

I use Gimp, a free photoshop type program:

http://www.gimp.org/

It is pretty good for a freebie.
