If it were up to me,every time thieving scum got caught nicking,I would cut one of their fingers off.Soon wouldn't have any fingers left.Trouble is,WE would end up paying disability allowance,bit like WE have to pay the scum whilst they are in the clink. :(

I have had a bike stolen. Difficult to say without seeing the other guy, but if the judge in this case thinks that level of aggression is acceptable unilaterally to mete out 'street justice' it illustrates a lot of what is wrong with the US justice system.

If that were to happen here the real crime being considered would be assault.

The US is a really scary place - If that we're to happen here it would just encourage cycle thieves to be more aggressive and more likely to carry and use weapons.
