Seeing as the world of professional cycling is dissolving in front of our eyes i thought i would try to work out why....and it's beards or the lack of them.

You see -

In the old days

Everyone had a beard.
No one had gears on their bicycles, even TDF riders.
No one took drugs at all.

Nowadays

No one has a beard (sideburns dont count).
Everyone has lots of gears (god forbid even electric ones :evil: ).
Everyone is taking lots of drugs.

Job done :)

P.s as a control.... I have a beard, no gears and the strongest stimulant i have ever taken is flapjack.

Yes. More beards would definately be an improvement.

The two main drawbacks of being a bearded cyclist;

1. Beard getting caught in helmet clip (ouch face)

2. Flies and road crap getting caught in beard

Otherwise beards are awesome

this site has the potential for some truly great beards, as well as the greatest cycling based website name ever...period. Pure genius.
