And in many cases previous costs of close to 1k for ILR and 1k for original lvisa its a very big money making industry for the goverment .

No. My passport clearly says "British Citizen".
The old stiff blue ones used "British Subject".

Showing my age. It appears that I was wrong. It all changed in 1983, when the term "British Subject" was discontinued as the British Nationality Act 1981 came into force. I'm sorry for my ignorance and misplaced assertion on this subject.
