I love Prog Rock but my knowledge is limited to stuff recorded by bands named after something quite big (Kansas, Asia, Boston (quite big)) or a one syllable verb (Rush).

Can folks recommend any good Prog Rock bands or tracks? Or indeed are the above bands Prog Rock? If not what is the definition of Prog Rock?

Loving this:

Rush are not prog, they describe themselves as 'over-complicated heavy rock'. There last album 'Clockwork Angels' is a cracker andd they are touring the UK next May.

Rush do straddle the prog rock genre in some ways. You cannot let bands define themselves.

Jethro Tull's Thick As A Brick is a nice title.

Passion Play too.
