my old astra cost me a pair of 350lc barrels (£200) a year or so ago
it has since needed an exhaust back box at the cost of £40
it will do 55 ish mpg ,and generaly will do 42 mpg ish
its comfy has some dents and scratches and i will be sad to see it go when it eventually dies

i once bought a honda c90 for £8 and ran it for 3 years for less than £100
tax petrol and insurance , was a few years ago tho
sold it for £120

our £50 Fiesta, a 1983 powder blue 1.1L - 'Sweaty Betty' was a stopgap car for 6 months. 3 years later, we decided that it was too small and traded it in. I miss my that car and I miss the life that we had with it.

not quite, little income, no debts, a cosy flat etc. as opposed to now, which is no job, no money etc etc
