Anyone have the hope vision 1?
Looking to find out about truthful battery run times,Lifespan of bulbs? is it waterproof? is it robust enough for the switches to keep working year on year? does it flash quickly or slowly.

These are the questions
Are there some answers ? :)

What do you want it for, being seen by others on the road, or seeing where you're going off road?

In any case I think there are better value alternatives for both scenarios.

For commuting I have a Smart Lunar 35: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005GPLY...de=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B005GPLYQS. It's plenty bright enough to be seen by, and bright enough for short stretches of unlit road, but not for extended riding on unlit roads or off-road. It also has cutouts at the side of the lense so that you can be seen from the side and it is very attention grapping in flashing mode.

For off road I have a Magicshine MJ-872: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magicshin...ing_LightsLanternsTorches&hash=item336f4e9b38 this is very bright, but quite "floody", I sometimes wish it had a bit more forward throw, but it is bright enough to ride off road or on completely unlit roads. However, I think there may be better alternatives for similar money available: http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com/p/bike-light-database.html

Long socks and wearing the mrs tights...nor normally reserved for just winter though...
:D

I have had a Hope Vision 1. It is expensive and easily out-gunned by cheaper Chinese alternatives. Jonnyboy666 linked one a few months ago and they are amazing value. Something like £38 for a rechargeable 1200 lumen light.

No prizes on offer for guessing what my thoughts have turned to; first cyclo-cross race of the season this Sunday. Can't wait! :)
