Doubt it, as it is an antibiotic.
The most pressing reason why you can't buy antibiotics without prescription, is incase you have a serious allergy a particular type like I have with Ofloxacin, not a pleasant experience.
Strangely in the Great Satan you can just walk into any Walmart or wherever and buy antibiotics as if they were aspirin. Presumably American's only ever have bacterial and not viral infections! Also American bacteria must be unaffected by antibiotic resistance, otherwise the American people are storing up a massive treatment problem for the future.

Have you tried making your own? All you need is a pot of Yoghurt (plain, not fruit) and some mushrooms.
It's not quite the same , but close enough!
And you CAN drink with it. Any medecine you can't take with wine is not worth having!

Actually you can't buy ANY antibiotic without a legal prescription in the US. Don't know where you got your info, but you can't just walk into a drugstore and get them without a prescription from a doctor.
