not quite that archaic......it's a Philips 190B 19" LCD that cost me over £400 at the time; just had a look on eBay and I could now pick one up for £49.99 with free delivery if I was so inclined!
Guess I could set up a dual-screen display and extend my desktop across both...

That's what I did. 3840x1080 will allow yo to see most pictures indeed.
