This makes so angry

Strange people the Japanese.

The whaling will end, but this is one of the consequences of Japanese culture being shut away for 500 years until the late 19th Century. One more generation, two at most and it will stop. It is tradition, not economic necesscity. Western whaling only really ended with the discovery of petrochemical alternatives. The Norwegians, Iceladers and Japanese have no excuse, but overt pressure will increase the resistance and hurt pride, thereby furthering the tradition. Subtle coercive pressure on the young generation will end this for good.

The Japanese are a tradition led society, they have difficulty 'thinking out of the box' that's why they like us Brits, we're good at that sort of thing.
