Brake biased? Mind Job?

When you brake your mind tells you how hard to pull (M&M?) your front & rear brake, this depends on the terrain, your brain, your agility and how good your brakes.

On a car, BRAKE BIASED is a predetermined PERCENTAGE (%).

DOES ANYBODY KNOW what brake bias PERCENTAGE (%) we apply to our:
FRONT BRAKE?
BACK BRAKE?

If had to guess I’d say FRONT 60% and REAR 40%, approximately.

Anymore MORE educated replies with actual statistics on this?

I don't know, however when I was riding on the ice and pulled the front brake I knew instictively, within about 100th of a second, that it was too much. 1sec later I hit the deck.

That's all.

Must confess, I've never really thought of it........but I reckon it's back brake first to scrub off speed, then fully engage the back then front to actually stop- I know immediately locking the back wheel up can lead to it washing out.

I'd say there is no answer. We feel the unweighting and constantly adjust the bias depending on our balance.

Is this today's "thinking way too hard about stuff" post?

It's anywhere between 100% front/0% rear and 0% front/100% rear depending on circumstances.

squeeze the front brake as hard as possible...stop squeezing when your face hits the floor. Bike stopped. Job done. Bias 100% front.
