Sad news all round this. I was really looking forward to the new year when I planned to buy my first new bike in 15 years. A custom made, fillet brazed 853 frame from Solitude Cycles.

Had come across them a year and a half or so ago when I bought some Pauls levers off Alex who ran the show.

The frames he produced were fantastic with really considered design, details and beautiful finishing.

Have been checking up on the site every now and again to see the gallery and look for possible inspiration for 'my' bike.

Anyway, he has now closed down and I'm gutted! Lee Cooper is still going strong though so I think I will be turning to him as have always been impressed with his stuff too. But I don't know if he'll do the same lovely finishing touches...

Nothing much to see now as unfortunately the gallery has gone too. I think I may mail Alex though to see if he could send me a couple of jpegs of bikes I really liked the look of...
