Errand to run beyond Stargate! Road was best option but couldn't face it on way back. Discovered a new track & potential others.

Used a great app I discovered last week called ClearWaste for reporting fly-tipping. Sadly lot's going on at the moment.

It was out of the blue. I have exactly what you describe, almost everyone smiles, gives a nod or a greeting. I always slow down and make sure there's plenty of room and if there isn't I stop and get out of the way completely. In this case there was room, I slowed down and he still felt the need to act like a prick. I did chuckle when we passed each-other the very next day; he said absolutely nothing.

Who knows what people think or don't think, what stresses and strains they are under.

Anyway, Saturday is my off-day so Sunday and Monday were runs (9 and 7 miles respectively). Back in the saddle this morning. This pretty much sums up the climate - absolutely spot on. I am getting itchy though and would love to get back to Swinley, Bedgebury or pretty much any other trail system  Ah well, that time will come soon enough. I'm pretty sure it's essential travel ;)

Re:

'You're crazy'

Said my partner when I got home and told her where I'd been.

She doesn't mind, but she worries. Particularly as she knows I like to push on, and have returned home injured on a number of occasions.

We've altered our diet in the last few days, cutting back on meat, and my energy levels are through the roof. It's brilliant.

My legs are slashed and stung to pieces by hawthorn, bramble and stinging nettles after stubbornly refusing to give up on a very narrow footpath between two houses. As it turned out the path didn't seem to get much use by humans and was more for the local wildlife, even though it was signposted. I ended up having to use the bike as a ram to push through the dense foliage. The nettles were up to my chest, and by the time I started having second thoughts I was about, what looked like, passed halfway.

Sitting here writing this my legs are now tingling like I've got pins and needles.

So, a circular route in taking in lots of bridleways, footpaths, field edges, quiet lanes, couple of bits of woodland and some busy roads. Same philosophy as usual: don't repeat the same ride.

Late afternoon.
Temperature 25°c ish. No noticeable wind. Quiet apart from the last 6-7 miles, as I used a couple of main roads - it was getting late.

Really lovely day.
