Or is that a specific process that you ask for just to get those results ... ie. by design rather than as a result
 
Understandably, Eric's pretty cagey about things like welder settings, but a lot of it is practice, practice, practice.

Looks like fairly fast pulse welding and laywire technique to me. Needs a quality welding machine and high cleanliness to achieve.
The Furick BBW gas lens that he uses helps a lot with the shielding and arc control. They're £45 a piece (as opposed to £3-8 for the normal ones), so most builders (and certainly any big factories) are too tight to buy one.

He builds all the frames for Da Vinci tandems, so doesn't have to do the up front fabrication etc, just weld weld weld...refine, refine, refine...
