No, it is achieved by regular cutting and a bit of Feed, Weed & Moss killer.

And Now:

Apart from a bit of feed with Seaweed in it for Nitrogen, my lawn always seems to be an amazing deep green. The flowers below are White Iberis, Aubrieta and I think the name of the other little violet groundcover is Creeping Phlox.
