Looking at a car which has French plates but UK mot
Apparently I can’t drive a French reg car in the UK because I am resident UK
What steps are needed to convert to UK registration and how has it passed uk mot without modification?

Re:

Hi,

Its quite easy - I've done it with French & German plated vehicles - if the vehicle has an UK MOT then it usually means the car conforms to UK standards - ie headlights are correct. All you need is the original French registration certificate (Carte Gris), a valid insurance certificate - visit DVLA and re-register / pay car tax. Only thing I can't remember is if you need a bill of sale to prove ownership.

Hi,

Again, if the MOT is valid - no one will be checking conformity of speedo - the Twingo only comes in LHD and there are quite a few UK registered ones about.

Just need to be aware of the speed limits - kph v's mph.
