Good on them i say, they understand the system just fine and are not stupid, many are quite the opposite.

If they understand system then why are they protesting? The outcome is the result of a demcracrtic process so that makes them stupid.

Secondly if the us government were to make changes because 0.001% of the population didnt agree with any election result then government wouldnt be possible and that too makes them stupid for thinking their protest will remove trump.

So less than one day as president, what has he *actually* done (not what he said hed do as well probably see that as with most politicians what is promised doesnt turn into action) that deserves such a reaction?

You quite obviously don't understand democracy either, as it encapsulates the rights to free speech and peaceful public protest. They are not protesting what he might do, they are protesting what he has already said and done, or are you suggesting he is not a racist misogynist who treats women like objects....... Or are these merely more of his crass lies ??

clearly some people have too much spare time, are they too stupid to realise that is how democratic voting works. they should be grateful they have a say in who rules over them.

get over it or protest over something worthwhile like dictatorshops.

PS I didn't like either US presidential candidate but it is what it is.

Yeah, we should just stay quiet and say nothing...

We should all like the same bikes, the same music, in fact we should conform and live in a fully communist world.

What did protesting ever do for us?

Odds on you're a bot. A badly programmed Russian bot.

Re:

I think it's been a fantastic global display of solidarity, good for them. This was not just a protest against Trump and gender disparity but a protest against the rising right and what it represents...homophobia, sexism, misogyny, transphobia and anti-Muslim bigotry, even climate change denial.

Pence's response was unbelievable.

“I can’t tell you how let down I feel by the heads of these households who did not simply give their wives and daughters a firm, decisive ‘no’ when they asked to participate in today’s demonstration"

Re:

I am a little out of the loop in this one, but that is an amazingly daft thing for Pence to say.

The protestations of the Trump administration against what are clearly accurate photographs of crowds is incredibly school playground.

Facts are facts. They ought to rise above it.

Several of my friends and family took part in demonstrations in different parts of the world. I am proud of them.

Trump represents a huge step back for so many rights we have come to demand as human beings first and foremost.

I don't think his presidency will be as disastrous as some predicted; it may actually serve to swing politics back to a more humanistic approach, and some new form of liberal socialism may be the answer to what will likely be a long term demise for the right wing.

Meanwhile I am pulling up a chair and making some popcorn.

You're clutching at some pretty meagre straws there if I may say so.

The protestors are quite literally wasting their time. But if they weren't doing that they might be doing something else more productive and problematic so the more time they waste the better.
