Today's Ride

Re:

Needs a bit of work.......

The car's pretty ropey as well....

Fixer-uppers?

Keeping the motoring theme going:

Never mix cross-plys with radials......

Re:

Today-Sunday-Pretty nice out, about 68 F. and sunny. We rode up the steepest street in Fairfax to get to the Open Space District, where we finally ended up at the Council Rocks...

Re:

Today-Friday-Rained pretty good yesterday, so didn't go out, but the radar showed the storm had passed by late this morning, so off we went. It was still a very mild drizzle at my place, but the higher we climbed, the thicker it got. When we got up to Tamarancho we were in the clouds and it was raining, so we descended back down to dryer ground. We did see some mud and puddles-an unusual sight around here for the last half dozen years or so...

Today, I did a recce for a group retro ride I'm organizing.

Starting at a cafe that's new to me, I finalized a route over a cup of tea!

Nice and peaceful here,

So, up and over the first climb, before gradually working my way up to here,

Then along, past a school, onto one of my favourite parts of bridleway, over the A24 to Washington, then back over the bridge, to the next climb,

Into the low gears,

I love this time of year, cooler temperatures, and an abundance of colour!

Sadly, the weather wasn't conducive to great views from the top, owing to the low cloud and general dampness in the air.

What goes up,

Went back down,

Gingerly! You can just make out the trail in the background.

Then back up this short steep climb,

To better views, the cloud clearing a bit by this stage

Last nasty little climb before easier riding,

Through Angmering Park Estate, lovely area. If you're lucky, you can see raptors or deer around here.

Then back home for lunch. 44km later.

Lovely!

This afternoon's ride

Took the latest acquisition for a shakedown ride to check there were no problems with the lightweight addititions (dropped 700g).

At one of the high points, you ca nsee when my crap goes - sewage works in top left corneer.

A Honda Goldwing with out the ridiculous acroutements.

And a furry friend just for halloween.

Re:

Love the bike! How much does that weigh?

Lot less than the Honda, I would imagine.

I like the broken fence leading the eye down to the trail in the next field.
