And this probably concludes my little anorack tour. Not so much to say here, other than again, necessity is a good driver for exceptional design. Exceptional in its simplicity, and predating the likes of the Klen and Bontrager integrated plates.
Not too much story here, other than two little development jobs, that differ from the standard parts. One is the black one you see here, slimmed down to be a flyweight. Ok on the nice clamping land you have on something like a manitou, but too flimsy to risk a ham-fisted user
slamming it up tight and bending the thing

and then of the two first silver raw ally protoypes, one has a chain clearance groove machined in. Proved to be un neccesary, and subsiquently deleted from the design:
