Any suggestions on the best way to bring these back to shiny glory......
 
progressively finer grades of wet and dry, then buff to a shine with polish

bugger, i forgot about the logos

just give them a good scrub with hot soapy water and see how they come up first

Also would add that you can get a buffing wheel that fits in a cordless drill which is a very elbow-grease minimal way of polishing things.
 
I wouldn't consider taking off any metal, they are made from a special cheese alloy. Soap and water may in fact dissolve them.

Seriously though, check for cracks.

You can get decal list for them if you decide to polish them a day lose the etched logos.
