My New Bike...

Hello all,

I had been a member in teh past but lost interest in my last CB project...

I now have a Dawes Barrosa Anaconda, has been well used, but is in fair con.

Following std spec.

Chainset: SR Suntour 48/38/28T x 170mm alloy crank arms
Bottom bracket: Full ball bearings, adjustable
Freewheel: 8 speed cassette
Headset: Threaded 1.1/8"
Stem: Alloy A-head
Handlebars: Lo-rise
Brake front: Alloy V type
Brake rear: Alloy V type
Brake levers: Alloy, adjustable

Only problem i have is the chain does not sit right on the rear cassette or the front crank, as a result it slips, any idea what this could be?
 
Your chain is too long by the look of it. You can probably take out 6 links. Best to check it by putting it into the biggest cogs at back and front and then removing all slack.

Also, rear derailleur looks a bit sad - mebbe it's lost some springiness in the cage return.

Could be worn cogs at the back too..
 
maybe you should have posted it in the "Readers MTB's --->1997" part of retrobike?
