Bought this because I'm a child of the 80s and I couldn't resist. Was this the first bike computer? Box is in perfect condition too

The first really popular computer was the Avocet 20 circa 1985.

I happen to have one of each. You can’t compare the two in size or oddity. The Cateye is really a blast from the past while the Avocet is still modern in size

I remember those from the 70s. I have an Avocet if anybody wants it Karma you pay postage. Not sure if it works and there is no spoke magnet with it. Always tried to max it out by the bottom descending Highgate West Hill bitd before the speed humps were fitted. 57/12 rings at full blast.
