Mrs Peachy has always had a hankering for a defender… I’ve always held off knowing they don’t come cheap and are a constant strain to keep going… 🤦

But…. When a neighbour recently passed away and left his widow with an unfinished project that she just wanted to be rid of, what could I do? ;)

So, here is Mrs Peachy’s birthday present. Due back after it's been away for a few weeks getting itself scraped through a MOT. (fingers crossed) :| Vera.JPG

   ...is an understatement!

MOT and Defender....not two words that sit happily in the same sentence.

Just remember the golden rule, if it ain't leaking oil, there is a problem....

Enjoy...I have one and though completely unnecessary, not sure I would give it up.

Yeah we’ve got a ‘plan’
1. Tax, MOT, insure it.
2. Sort out seatbelts (currently only has the front two operational)
3. Use her for mucky trips, eg taking dogs & kids to the beach, Jimmy & his mates to rugby (it seats 9) garden centre, tip runs etc etc

See if everyone falls in love with her, then open a vein next year!

Check the chassis

Check the chassis again

Whilst under there, check the chassis

I had a V8.

10 mpg was a dream

Oh dear, you've given it a name.

Yeah right! Like I’d call a car ‘Vera’?

The V11 is in Mrs Peachys name.... she’s the one who dreams of pulling up at a crime scene and saying in a North East accent “now you lot bugger off, whilst Kenny takes some photos like!”

It passed! (quite a lot of chassis welding though  )
And it's had all the lamping kit removed....

Now the real test begins, she's off to collect the kids from the mother-in-law..... :|

(Excuse the CCTV photo, Mrs P jumped in it before I could get my phone....)

Well the good news is she’s brought it back in one piece!

Now onto the jobs... first on the list, find the brackets for these seats that don’t look like they’ve ever been fitted! (at least I can’t find any obvious mounting holes.... :| 3C09E64A-2A52-4739-9E52-A08B814F98B4.jpeg 1B136AE6-46CB-4E74-945D-B3AB2FF29EB4.jpeg
