Old School Hero
Here it is. My beloved retro Mongoose IBOC comp. Bought for the princly sum of £40 from a little bike shop on Narborough road in Leicester as a cheap scoot in 1998 after my motorbike got stolen. It is basically bone stock apart from these things which have been fell apart or had to be fixed.
1, I rode the original araya cv-7 rims into the ground and wore out the sidewalls. Now has black Araya RM-20s (rebuilt the wheels infront of the tv at uni)
2, Steel SG-X middle ring painted silver off of an m320/at10 crankset. The alloy ring wore out completely.
3, Sachs black and silver chain.
4, Rear block that has huge cut out holes in it. bought from the bike park in leicester in '99 but no idea other than that. ( i'll be asking in another thread for some help identifying it)
5, Zoom stem, my goodness the old one was short, high rise and unpretty.
6, Kore bars off a '97 gt tequesta (free from my mate)
7, Pedals M550
8, Nokia cityrunner tyres. I love narrow, profiled city tyres. Had Michelin isatis skinwalls on it for the best part of 7 years of ownership.
9, Oh and seat.. got swapped the first day I bought the bike. It was hanging to pieces when I collected it.
10, UN-71 68-122.5 cartridge BB, also one of the mods of the first week of ownership.
