1996 Kona Kilauea colour

Hi there,
I'm looking to give my 1996 Kilauea some TLC, including a new paint job. I want to include the original colour as part of the scheme.
I'm planning on using Argos racing in Bristol to do the paint job, and I'm struggling to find the closest colour on their website.
Does anyone have any ideas?

The alternative colour I was thinking is the blue Ku colour from 1997, as seen in the catalogue - anyone know this colour.

Any other suggested blues would be great.

Hi,

It is always hard to match a colour to something you see on a computer screen.
Why don't you go up to Argos with your frame and decide there what colour it will be? You clearly want blue, so that will narrow the choices down.

It's hard to match a metallic colour like that anyway, but there is no match between the colours Argos use and mtb colours because Argos (and all other specialist bike painters in the UK) use Italian colours.

The 97 catalogue Ku looks like a solid colour, similar to the Cinder Cone. I don't know whether Argos keep records of these things, but they must have repainted a few 97 Cinder Cones in their time as they are/were the warranty repairer in the UK for Kona.

Unfortunately, going to Argos isn't a real option as I live in the North West.
I guessed metallic colours would bea problem.
The suggestion of the 1997 Cindercone colour isn't a bad one, or even the Kilauea colour from the same year. I'll call them a get their thoughts.
