so, this was delivered yesterday, first thing i did was hug it!! i have never owned a titanium frame before, this was my unicorn

paul was a star by chucking in the box a USE seapost, an x-lite camlock for the seatpost and a stx rc headset, being honest though, i have other ideas!! not that those parts won't get used but i feel that a vit t2 deserves something higher in the range than stx.

here's some pics of it when just out of the box yesterday afternoon.

so here's what has been accomplished this afternoon

basically i have a hard act to follow bearing in mind the build that paul did, 3rd in BOTM if i remember correctly

so my theme is deliberatley and typically british where possible, some parts i already had, some were literally lying around others were earmarked for other builds and i have nicked or swapped some bits from other builds.

i don't like nicking bits from other builds but i'm happy to do it if a suitable part is available to go back on the doner bike, so for example i wanted to use the middleburn chainset from my E3 so i then nicked the xtr m900 chainset off the explosif leaving the E3 now full m900 (well almost) the explosif is gonna be spread around parts wise as i'm leaning to a totally different build and possible paint job for that.

the parts i had already were the pace fork, m900 headset, front and rear mechs, and a ti use post, and the ti flexstem. i also had the wheels, they were gonna be going in the P7 build but i think they're more suited to this build, i sort of want the P7 to have full xt anyway

i'm also gonna steal the flight ti from the kona while it's in pieces.

i know some of you hate the flexstem set up and i do have a titanium x-lite bar but no stem at the mo, but i don't mind the flexstems, infact i actually like them!!

obviousley i want some m900/910 sti units and brake wise i'll probably go for m900 canti's but i could be persuaded to look at something else like onza's etc but i must stress that all my bikes are riders so i'm put off onza's coz everyone says the crack and as i'll be riding it it has to be safe.

anyway here are some more pics. :D

@ m2tone, the headset is 1", i didn't want to do m950/1/2 etc, i don't like that model of xtr, too dull!! the matt grey ti finish on the frame with matt finish components i don't think would have been very nice also it would break my canti hanger rule!! (m950 etc had v brakes, this frame has a canti mount so i MUST use canti brakes)

@mr sinnett, this is the mayhem weapon  :D

Yep, very nice indeed Jon.
Are they my old RC30 legs?
Steve

thinking . . . um . . . no, got these ones off fingers, your ones were black and they went straight on the aluminium elite. bought these as i liked the way yours rode ;) :D

Hugs and Canti hanger rules. My kinda thread this. The Ti Orange is a mere bonus!

This must be a lovely bike to ride (and look at) ((and hug)). The steelies were great so I'd expect these to be like 3 times nicer, is that unreasonable?

Should be a winner, I like the story so far

Where did they make these, same factory as the steelies or one of the obvious Ti specialists?
