I'm hoping somebody might be able to dig me out of a hole?
Managed to get a 1990 Fire Mountain up together, having salvaged it from a terrible fate. It's almost servicable now.
Much of the bike was in pieces and I've had problems sorting out the rear brake. It's a cantilever/u brake set-up and I've not seen another. Think it was Shimano 500LX? I'm not sure I've got it back together correctly, but think I'm only missing the self centreing springs - these don't look to have been very standard?
Can anybody confirm? Also, any advice on sourcing them gratefully received.
I'm working to a deadline. Family are off to Centreparc, and I'm getting it in the ear because I possess three bikes and none of them are actually rideable...which is a fair gripe - them cluttering up the house and not earning their keep - a bit like me.
