1992 GT Karakoram (Tequilla Sunrise) - build start

Always concerns me if the phone rings or there is a knock at the door 'out of hours'. So, when there was a 'bang, bang, bang' on the door at just gone 7am this morning I thought the worst.

However, when the postman announced 'Special delivery' to the wife I knew what it was. 'Your frame is here' she announced to me with a look of glee on her face

So, I have finally got my hands on a 1992 GT Karakoram in beautiful Tequilla Sunrise colour scheme. Bit of T-Cut and polish and it will come up nice.

Going to put my Pro-Circuit forks on this one, and I already have a correct steerer is on its way. May ask Gil to make up some decals in a red/yellow scheme for them.

Running gear will be all mint LX and DX off my donor Raleigh Summit, which was purchased purely for this purpose.

Might have this done by the end of the year, work permitting.

I think is was flip-flop. Am going to have a look in the scans and see if I can dig the 1992 catalogue out.

the earliest cat I've got is 93
the plain colourways ,bit boring after the spatter schemes
all gt branded stuff ,tioga and kalloy i think ,and vetta stuff, forgot about
those

i'm glad to see you're back onto buying GT stuff again rather than proflex and specialized stuff!!

I'm pretty sure that it was a flip-flop stem on this one.
