Saracen Trekker Hydrotech

Finally finished rebuilding it, just needed new tyres & saddle (both of which'll be recognised by people on here!), cables & a couple of spokes... Think it's from about '92? Can't find much info about them though. Well as they say, a picture speaks a thousand words:

Not quite as bling as some, but certainly retro, pretty original & a bit different I reckon... :)

Cheers - I kinda think so too! :) Not really ridden it much yet, but it seems nice... I'm guessing it was expensive when new - back in the day when Saracen made good bikes.

Maybe we should have a non-bling-bling-dream-bike BOTM compo that I could enter my bikes in! Wouldn't win anything, but it'd be nice to feel less outclassed!

Nice, I like that. A friend of a friend had one and he used to brag about the amazing hydraulic brakes that how he could crush the rim if he wasn't careful.

Good to see another early saracen :)

you have to wonder wher the rest of the masses of these bikes have dissappeared to dont you ?

I remember them - couldn't afford one at the time.

Saracen = short top tube, long stem

Very cool.. Takes me back to when I was young and I had a Treker Hydrotech Comp with fake Pace style square tubes,Tange swich blades, E-stays which were very short and a 150mm 0' rise stem (made for silly handling). I got caught out with the brakes, the early Magura resin brake lever snapped at the pivot and I ended up on the back screen of a Escort XR3i.
