1995 Mountain Goat Whiskeytown Racer

lowtek

Retro Newbie
A couple of weeks ago I asked if it was alright to to ride old. I took the advice of the posters and had the Goat painted (coco-brown), took off the Caramba DB cranks, ditched the Mavic 217 Sunsets, and replaced the old XT brakes. I took her out for a long ride today. Rides as well as I remember it. I need to replace the fork (a 2001 Marzocchi Bomber X-Fly, but it still works well). Off came the Ringle stem which got replaced with a Raceface number I had sitting on the shelf. Drivetrain is XT.

Hope the pics attatch.

Very nice mid 90s goat

Have to agree you need a shorter fork. rode my 96/7 goat with a 80mm fork and it was cack. Chopped the fork down to 55 (or 60mm) and we were back in business :D
